There are countless samples one can send – here are the most common ones that are submitted:
- Used tissues
It is important, however to make sure the quality of the sample is suitable for testing – this is important to assess the success rate of extracting DNA. In the majority of cases we are successful with extractions. Whilst we can offer a good estimate of the chances of successful DNA extraction for a particular sample we cannot fully guarantee it. There have been cases where some samples do not contain DNA at all or in which the tiny quantity of DNA did not allow to extract any significant amount of genetic markers to carry out an analysis. Through infidelity testing we can do any of the following:
- Carry out a DNA test on your chosen sample with the sole aim of determining whether the sample you provided contains male DNA, female DNA or profiles belonging to different people (perhaps two males or two females)
- Carry out further testing by comparing two DNA samples together to see if they belong to different people or to the same one person.
Infidelity tests are essentially scientific tests. They will just express what is found in purely scientific terms. The result cannot in anyway state that cheating or marital infidelity has taken place – these are deductions the client needs to make basing him or herself on the results of the analysis provided. EasyDNA can simply tell you whether sample X contains male or female DNA or whether sample X and sample Y belong to the same person or different people.

The Human Tissue Act
It is important to be aware that in the UK the Human Tissue Act regulates the collection and analysis of any human tissue. This includes any stain of biological material no matter how small. In order to send a sample for analysis, the person or donor of that sample must give their consent in writing in order for us to test their sample. Furthermore, in order to be fully compliant with the Human Tissue Act, the donor of the sample must also be made aware of how their DNA sample will be used.
