Increasing pressure by a woman claiming Keanu Reeves to be father to her child and court cases meant that Reeves opted to take a paternity DNA test, encouraged by his attorney, to absolve himself of the allegations.
Reeves, the ‘Matrix’ star, was earlier this year taken to court by a 46-year-old Canadian woman who claimed he was father to one of her four children who are all now in their mid-20s.
Reeves rebuffed these allegations from a woman he says he never even met. However, the woman claims that her and Reeves had been friends as children. She demanded retroactive payments of $150,000 for the alleged child and $3 million per month in spousal support.
The results of the DNA paternity test confirmed that the 45-year old actor was not father to the child, and thus, the woman’s claims were null and void.
Several other celebrities have found peace of mind, or not, by taking a DNA paternity test. Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter has been subject of a legal battle since photographer and alleged father Larry Birkhead has demanded a DNA test in order to assume his rights as father to the girl. Mick Jagger has also made the headlines after his supermodel girl friend, Luciana Murad, has claimed that Jagger had fathered her child. The DNA test Jagger took confirmed that he was the biological father and Jagger was slapped with maintenance costs running into several thousand of pounds.
Boris Becker, the tennis player, has also been confronted with the incontrovertible evidence of paternity after his girlfriend model, Angela Ermakova, presented him with the results of the paternity DNA test. The affair between the two was a rather quick one taking place, allegedly, in a broom cupboard in a London restaurant. Eddie Murphy has demanded scientific evidence from his X girl friend Mel B who has asked for a paternity DNA test in order to have Murphy assume paternity of the child.
The paternity DNA test has become the most widely recognized means of establishing paternity. Results are highly accurate in both exclusion and inclusion of paternity and tedious unfounded battles are easier solved with a DNA test. |
